Shabina Qayyum
Dr Shabina Asad Qayyum practices as an NHS GP within the City of Peterborough.
She has a specialist interest in skin conditions, mental health and ENT and is currently the board member of CPFL Mind on their pilot project to address Muslim women’s Perinatal Mental Health and is working with the local community drug and rehabilitation service to improve uptake amongst Muslims with addiction issues.
Shabina also hosts a local community radio health show on Salaam Radio in Peterborough. She is a member of the British Islamic Medical Association and has delivered health talks within local mosques. In 2020 she was nominated as one of the 101 most inspiring Muslims in the NHS by the Muslim Doctors Association. Shabina is also an elected Labour Party councillor Peterborough’s East ward.
