 Rabbi Dr. Eugene Korn

Eugene Korn is a resident of Jerusalem and is the former Academic Director of The Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding and Cooperation in Israel, which he helped found, and Senior Research Fellow at Beit Morasha of Jerusalem’s Institute for Religion and Society. He has been a board member of the International Jewish Council for Interreligious Consultations for 8 years. He is an Orthodox rabbi and holds a doctorate in philosophy. Rabbi Dr. Korn taught Jewish Studies and Philosophy at Seton Hall University and at Columbia University. His expertise is in Jewish-Christian relations and interfaith theology, and he is active today in the Roots Israeli-Christian Palestinian dialogue group.

Dr. Korn has co-edited and contributed to 7 books, including From Confrontation to Covenantal Partnership (2020), Returning to Zion: Christian and Jewish Perspectives (2015), Plowshares into Swords? Reflections on Religion and Violence (2014), Jewish Theology and World Religions (2012), Covenant and Hope: Frontiers in Jewish and Christian Theology (2012), Two Faiths, One Covenant? (2005), and End of Exile by James Parkes (2005). He is the author of the popular The Jewish Connection to the Land of Israel—A Brief Introduction for Christians (2007). His book,  A Holy People: Jewish Tradition and Ethical Values, is scheduled to be published in 2021.

Dr. Korn has published more than 40 scholarly and popular essays on Jewish ethics and law, Jewish-Christian relations, Jewish attitudes toward non‑Jewish cultures, and religious extremism. His articles, reviews of theological works and op-eds have appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times, The Jerusalem Post, Makor Rishon, America Magazine, First Things, Religion News Service, The Jewish Week, The Forward, National Catholic Reporter, The Edah Journal and Studies in Christian-Jewish Relations. His writings have been translated into Hebrew, Italian, Spanish and German.
